Fiona on Dallas Road

In June 2013, I attended a 2-day portrait photography workshop. At the end of the first day, the instructor gave us a homework assignment: to take the lighting techniques we’d learned, have a quick photoshoot with any willing subject that evening, and pick our favourite photos to share at the workshop the following day. I had not expected this and, in a small panic, called Fiona to ask if she’d be willing. To my surprise (and hers), she readily agreed. We met near my apartment and spent the golden hour taking photos, mostly of her.

I shared a few of these at the workshop the following day and the instructor said “She looks like a very interesting person indeed”. He didn’t know the half of it.
